Our Thanksgiving mini unit is full of history, art, beauty, gratitude, service, and prayer. In this one-week unit, you will be discovering the incredible history of this special holiday, the hurt and controversy that surrounds it, the incredible redeeming power of our loving God—Creator of all—and having a lot of fun too! Over the course of 4 lessons, you will learn how to bake pies and make your own pie crust, how cranberries are harvested and grown, and how to make your own cranberry sauce while also making daily crafts, getting ready for the holiday, and learning what the Bible says about thankfulness and what it does to your brain!
With rich literature connections, poetry, picture studies, copywork, communion, journaling, and more, the Thanksgiving unit is designed to be used for the whole family (whether you are homeschoolers or not), as a way to connect as a family and appreciate what Thanksgiving is all about. It is designed to be done in 4 days. We pray that you walk away from this unit full—not of food but, rather, of an awareness of the goodness of God. May He open your eyes to His faithfulness, His kindness, His gentleness, and His incredible provision in your life.
