There’s far more here in the Gem State than simple spuds! From Lake Coeur d’Alene, Shoshone Falls, Craters of the Moon National Monument, and Old Idaho Penitentiary, there’s no shortage of things to explore. You’ll meet Sacagawea (who played a crucial role in the Lewis and Clark Expedition) and see some incredible nature along the way . . . think sly, giant salamanders and juicy, tangy huckleberries. If you’re lucky, you just may uncover a star garnet gemstone along the way. We will talk about the timber, farming, ranching, and tourism industries that are so important to Idaho. Hands-on activities include using melted chocolate to model how obsidian forms and cooking with huckleberries.
