North American Birds takes you on a fascinating journey to discover more about some of our favorite feathered friends. From the familiar birds that hop in your yard to the majestic hunters that soar through the sky, your family will learn so much more about these amazing creatures and how they are designed. The student workbooks will give kids plenty of opportunities to document what they are learning in their lessons through art and writing, and they even include a bird watching log in the appendix where students can keep a record of birds that they see each day. It’s the perfect way for your children to connect what they’re learning to real life! For the writing project in this unit, younger students will write a non-fiction paragraph while high schoolers will be writing an essay. With its focus on the beautiful birds we find all around us, this unit is full of delight and discovery for all ages!
What to buy? You can purchase a leveled bundle with one student workbook of your choice and the Teacher's Guide, or the full family bundle that includes all levels with the Teacher's Guide. If you have more than one child you are buying for, it is more economical to get the full bundle to re-use in the future with your kids at older levels. How long are units designed to last? Each unit is designed to be 4-5 weeks. Our full units and most of our mini units include 20 lessons and can be done as a 4-day school week (lasting 5 weeks) or a 5-day school week (lasting 4 weeks) to offer flexibility. You're in control! Set a schedule that works best for your family and your pace will dictate how quickly you complete any given unit.
Print-at-home instructions: All digital files are designed to be printed double sided. Blank pages are intentional for messy art or cutouts, but are not marked to save on ink costs. Print from the free Adobe PDF reader and use the 'print as image' setting for best results.
