Our second US History unit goes from the mid 1700s–The War of 1812. It covers the beginning of the new Nation of America, the Revolutionary War, and the debates and deep convictions that led to independence.
Our mini units are 20 lessons long and designed to go along with and/or supplement our main units. They are not as in-depth or as large as our main units, with only 2 pages in each student book per lesson instead of 5. Our mini units are designed to be more targeted and focused rather than broad and far-reaching.
For the first time ever, we have created a story companion MP3 to go along with the unit. This can be used as a stand alone teaching for your younger students (up to Upper Elementary) or as additional reinforcement for your middle and high schoolers. The stories are engaging and short (averaging around 5 minutes) and cover the main points of the lesson through adventure, with random sound effects to keep the whole family engaged. Rebecca had so much fun writing about the adventures of her son, Malakai, and his pet goat, Jax, that she decided to also create a custom coloring book for students to color while listening! These are both add-ons for this unit and must be purchased separately.
Your printed Student Books are printed on high end 32lb (80lb text) paper and coil bound with plastic coils in our warehouse on the left. The books are only about 44 pages long and are printed double-sided.
