US Government is a rich unit, teaching about both the history of politics and how the government is set up, as well as how voting works. As a mini unit, it only has 2 student pages per day and focuses on an oral presentation to show what you know. Pre-reader students will make a mini book to present at the end of the unit, 6-10 year olds are creating their own country and government structure, and older students are choosing a debate topic. Students will make timelines, learn about the Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, and Amendments. Weekly narration for those of you who need to test or to use as review, weekly vocabulary words, daily notebooking pages, a daily prayer to start each day... this unit isn't just beautiful, it is a little treasure! With landmarks, history, geography, civics, and so much more, you definitely want to add this to your list!
