Finally, another unit for our fellow Canadians! Canadian Government takes a difficult and complicated topic and breaks it down into something more digestible. With French word highlights, art, vocabulary, and Bible pages, it is diverse and broad-reaching. Your unit project for pre-reader students is to make a mini book of Canadian symbols. Older students are building their own country! With fun prompts such as choosing a country name, mapping out the geography, coming up with a coat of arms, deciding how the government will work, and more! They will even hold their own mock election and debate!
Other important topics are things such as levels of government involvement, different types of government, a focus on some of Canada's Prime Ministers (plus check out our beautiful watercolored Prime Minister flashcards!), exports and trade, and more!
What's included in this purchase?
This listing includes the physical, printed, and shipped format for our mini-unit Teacher's Guide for the Canadian Government. You will also need to purchase the Student Books in the levels of your choice in order to do this unit. You can see an in-depth preview of each level in the pictures of the student listing.
This unit is recommended for all ages as the reading is short and easy to digest and understand. Like most of our mini units, it includes 20 lessons and there are 6 different levels of student notebooks, from Pre-Reader to High School. The main theme of this study is the Canadian government, how it works, how laws are made, the house of commons, and more.
The lessons are open and go, they are largely discussion based and there are two student pages each day that include meaningful vocabulary, a unit project, notebooking, narration review, and more.
Your printed Teacher's Guide is printed on high-end 32 lb (80lb text) paper and coil bound with plastic coils in our warehouse.
This Teacher's Guide is for home-use only with one household. If you need a Teacher's Guide that is licensed for use outside of your immediate household, please visit our Co-op Groups section to request a School Edition Teacher's Guide.
