Why is there a parking fee?

Junaluska offers free parking for people who are on site and staying at one of the hotels. However, if you do stay offsite, please note that there is a parking fee for each day.

Do I have to stay at Lake Junaluska Retreat and Conference Center in order to attend the retreat? 

The short answer is no. We do have room blocks for Terrace hotel, Mountainview, and campground and those can be booked HERE. It is helpful for us for those accommodations to be booked and used. However, you can find other accommodations by visiting this third party site that lists some homes around Lake Junaluska OR similar sites like Airbnb. 

Are there other places to eat or buy groceries nearby? 

Yes! There are several fast food restaurants .25 miles away and others within a 5-10 minute drive as well as grocery stores. There’s Junaluska Gifts and Grounds in the Harrell Center (next door to Stuart Auditorium) that serves coffee, smoothies, ice cream, and other drinks and treats. 

Can I bring outside food on campus? 

If you are lodging on campus, you are welcome to bring any food and drink into your rooms/apartments/homes/campers. You can also bring small snacks into our meeting space for your individual family members so long as they don’t make a mess. There are water filling stations in our main meeting space as well. Please be mindful to pick up after yourselves and keep the facilities clean.

Airport options: Asheville, NC Regional Airport (50 minutes away) OR the McGhee Tyson Airport in Knoxville, TN (1.5 hours away)

What is the cancellation policy?

We understand that things happen outside of our control, which can make it a little scary to plan this far in advance. If you need to cancel for any reason, we want to make sure you have options! First of all, if you booked a hotel room you will need to call the event center directly to cancel your room as that is not through us (this can be done until about 2 weeks before with very little penalty other than a small booking charge).

Your actual ticket can either be resold on our event Facebook page or app, or you can request a refund (see details below).

15 days before the event: No refunds will be given. Tickets can potentially be resold by the customer to a third party and we will take care of the ticket transfer. You are responsible for cancelling and changing any hotel rooms at the venue.

15-45 days before the event: A refund will be issued onto a Gather ‘Round gift card that you can use for either product or a convention in the future!

45+ days before the event: A refund can be returned to the original payment method. 

We hope that this offers flexibility and makes planning a little bit easier and less stressful.
